Holidays are about contending with the delightful but difficult aspects of the dysfunctional nuclear family. This case, made of soft-cured reindeer skin, is filled with antidotes to the season’s most common pathologies. It includes: A, Pacifier; B, Toy; C, Nostalgesic; D, Guilt Block; E, Regression Inhibitor; F, Reliquary; G, Pocket Translator (converts oblique to blunt language); H, Emotional Prophylactics.

Home Visit Kit was created for the New York Times Magazine, December 1996.
